China Babies!

We are getting two referrals from China today! Not my families, but I wanted to share the excitement anyway! YYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAYY!

"Our civilization has decided, and very justly decided, that determining the guilt or innocence of men is a thing too important to be trusted to trained men.  If it wishes for light upon that awful matter, it asks men who know no more law than I know, but who can feel the things I felt in the jury box. When it wants a library catalogued, or the solar system discovered, or any trifle of that kind, it uses up its specialists.  But when it wishes anything done which is really serious, it collects twelve of the ordinary men standing around.  The same thing was done, if I remember right, by the Founder of Christianity.  - G.K.Chesterson

This is the big story - there is a God who's in control!

He's telling the big story and He wants us to know that

We'll find ourselves as we lose ourselves in the bigger story.

Come and take your place in the story!

- Steven Curtis Chapman

I love this song because I love stories - epic stories like the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and pretty much any adventurous fighting-evil story - usually ones that involve journeys. I think these stories appeal to me and other people because we are part of one ourselves. The history of how God has dealt with us since he made the first people through the present is incredible. And He asks us to be part of that epic adventurous journey-story! If life is boring, and especially if life is boring despite believing in God, then we need to reexamine our lives and change what we do with our time here so that we are part of the exciting adventure that it is to live like Jesus and follow Him do things radically different from the way our culture and our own natural tendencies push us to. If we can do that, then our lives will be as exciting as fighting battles to melt a ring, flying starships to save a princess, or solving mysteries and flying on broomsticks.

With the great excitement and joy I have found in changing my life just a little bit, imagine how much more there is to discover when I let God change everything about my life and let Him lead me to use all my time on earth for Him. And I am hoping alot of you will come with me! :)

I am the cutest little girl ever! But I am the worst photo manager ever...took me forever to figure out how to paste this and still I have all this blank space around it - oh well. Being cute is more important than being computer-savvy! Ha!

Exciting news! We found office space for the NJ branch of my adoption agency which will open in Novemberish, and it is right up the street from Jamie's school! We get to carpool to work! And it is only three miles from the center of Princeton - I am so excited!
